The best places to eat and drink in Forest Hills
San Chez Tapas Bistro & Cafe
38 Fulton St W, Grand Rapids, MI
When your Grand Rapids Party Buses travels bring you to the Forest Hills area, one of the very best places to stop for breakfast or brunch is San Chez Tapas Bistro & Cafe. Should you be in the area around lunchtime, you will enjoy all of the mouthwatering cafe selections, and if you're there for dinner, the inventive tapas and small plates offerings will have you on cloud nine! There are dozens of examples of their best dishes that we could list if we had the space here to do so, but a few of our absolute favorites would include the scallops and bacon, the caso de frito azul (a.k.a. bleu cheese fritters), the bistec de lomo, and the chocolate empanadas with raspberry coulis for dessert! They have a lot of classic old fashioned favorites for your enjoyment as well, clearly taking a page from the comfort food category, such as stuffed mushrooms, yummy meatballs, and even steak with tortellini and cheese. Mmm. If you have had a rough day, that one will send you to your happy place just like magic! There are a multitude of delicious vegan and vegetarian options here, not to mention a whole lot of enjoyment for the meat lovers out there. Everybody in your Grand Rapids Party Buses party can be happy!
925 Cherry St SE, Grand Rapids, MI
Brewery Vivant could not be a more beautiful and impressive place for you and your Grand Rapids Party Buses group to visit when you're out in Forest Hills. This is a Belgian style brewery that actually puts just as much focus on their food menu as they do on their beer list. The staff is beyond knowledgeable, really packed with info and ready to share it with you if you want to know more about the brewing process and the effects of all that hard work! And then, if you're wise, you'll find the rest of your answers in the brew itself. Just take a sip and enjoy the craftsmanship and talent that has gone into it. Craft brew lovers are so at home here. As we mentioned, the food is on a completely different level! For instance, the duck nachos are something that you won't find at too many other places, and how indulgent and tasty can they get? The pretzel rods and the chef's roasted nuts are also major highlights. If you're not quite sure which brew you'd like to dive into first, just order up a beer flight that represents the best of what they have to offer! The price range for everything here is quite moderate and affordable, yet high enough to demonstrate quality.
bd's Mongolian Grill
2619 28th St SE, Grand Rapids, MI
Many of our Grand Rapids Party Buses travelers choose bd's Mongolian Grill when they're in the Forest Hills area, as well as in other areas because this establishment is a chain with so many convenient locations for you. Despite the fact that it's a chain, it feels very comfortable and inviting, and the experience is greatly up to you because you craft your own dish, sort of artisan-style, while the chefs do the cooking for you! What fun. If you have not yet had the pleasure of dining at a Mongolian style barbecue, step one is to sit down and order your drinks. They have a really nice array of beer to choose from here, including both domestic classics and craft favorites. At that point, you'll let the server know if you're doing the one-bowl option or the all-you-can-eat. We highly recommend the all-you-can-eat, especially for hungry Grand Rapids Party Buses groups! Then you will head up to the raw bar to choose the ingredients for your dish. Instead of just telling someone what you want, Subway style, you actually put the ingredients into your own bowl. You can choose from veggies, meats, seafood, spices, oils, and more. Eggs are a nice touch too! Then just hand it over to the chef and watch them work their magic on the Mongolian grill!
